I’ve just written another Google Chrome extension, this time a little more complex. It’s a Twitter ‘Tweet This Page’ extension, much like the many available bookmarklets, except this one allows you to tweet directly from within the extension, without leaving the site you’re on to go to twitter.com. You’ll need to log into Twitter the first time you use it, but after that, simply click the button, alter the tweet as you desire, and submit.
You can download the extension here, automatic updates are enabled, so you should get new versions as and when I put them up. Please be aware that this extension is quite rough around the edges, (and quite spectacularly ugly,) so please let me know if you manage to break it!
If you choose to use the extension, please let me know, either by commenting below… or by tweeting this page!

I installed it; how does one use it? Don’t see any interface to the extension. Using 4.0.222.5
Hi Dagwood – Are you running on Windows? If so, you should see a little twitter icon to the right of your address bar.
If you’re on Mac or Linux, this functionality isn’t in place yet (Browser Actions in extensions)… but it’s coming soon.
Awesome extension and the way it goes.
My 2 cents:
* the button takes too much space on the bar
* you really should consider to add view, reply/retweet functionality.
Hope to see it shining
Hey,
It’s not a bad extension.
One problem in the UI. Clicking “Log in” without entering any username breaks the form for some reason.
Hmmm, not working for me, simply says “couldn’t not tweet”. So I tested my credentials by logging directly into twitter. Anything else I could try?

Seems to have stopped working.
Click on the button and nothing happens!
Chromium 4.0.223.6 (Ubuntu build 29510)
Now working again in latest build
4.0.224.3 (Ubuntu build 29959)
It’s working great. Are you working on a full featured Twitter client for Google Chrome… I really need one and I’m not into javascript so it would be hard to code one on my own.
It would be great!
Hi!
I have Chromium running under ubuntu karmic. I cann’t realize to make the extensions work for me. Included this one. I can download, I can see them at the extensions address (chrome://extensions)but only for some there is the options button activated … and I can see only two or three.
You’re extension maybe it’s awsome, but I cann’t reach to try it …
Do you have any suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance
I’m using Mac chromium build 4.0.254.0 (32608). Currently there’s no icon for the extension in the toolbar. The button is there, but it’s blank. Also, this might be a bug that needs to be fixed in the Mac Chromium, but the popup browser that comes up when I click the button is too small. I haven’t been able to log in yet. I just wanted to bring those items to your attention.
Hello! This is an awesome extension!
But I’m afraid it does not work correctly in Japanese which uses 2-bytes characters. Please improve this point. Thank you in advance.
thank you, I just tweeted this page, it works ok. thanks again for sharing. Marjan.
